Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about MyWeatherPage.
How do I change the search provider?
On a new tab, select Customize, open the Settings tab, and choose from the Search provider list: Browser Default, Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo or Yahoo. This changes the search box on your new tab only; it does not change Chrome’s own default search engine.
How do I remove MyWeatherPage?
Open the Chrome menu (the three dots at the top right), choose Extensions, then Manage Extensions. Find MyWeatherPage and select Remove. Chrome then goes back to its own new tab page.
Where is my data stored?
Your settings, shortcuts and backgrounds are stored in your browser’s extension storage on your own computer. They are not sent to us, and they are deleted when you remove MyWeatherPage.
Why does Chrome ask for permission to show my most visited sites?
Most visited sites and website icons are optional. Chrome asks for permission only when you turn one of them on, and the information stays on your device.
Where does the weather come from?
From Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com). MyWeatherPage sends it the city name you type to find the city, and that city’s coordinates to fetch the forecast.
Does MyWeatherPage know where I am?
No. It never reads your device’s location. It shows the weather for the city you choose.
